ShutterCo is owned & operated by the Rice family; Sarah, Brendan & Barry Rice. All three have visited the United States for research and training in the manufacture & installation of plantation style shutters
Sarah Rice
Sarah Rice holds a degree in Interior Design from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Sarah has worked for ladies clothing Retail Company ‘A Wear’, where she was responsible for designing fresh and innovative shop displays. As well as creating design concepts, Sarah would often travel to A Wear retail stores nationwide turning her designs into reality by modelling in-store displays and shop windows. Sarah, who has a keen eye for creative design, has travelled extensively and worked in the Interior Design Industry in both Australia and in the USA. In her experience, Sarah has encountered first-hand, the success and popularity of shutters in these markets. In addition to her qualifications in design, Sarah has completed several courses on business & marketing.
Brendan Rice
Father to Sarah & Barry, and a telephone engineer by trade, Brendan Rice has 15 years
experience as managing director of a previous company. During the recent construction
boom in Ireland, Brendan was responsible for over fifteen staff members and worked on
many major construction projects in Dublin & surrounding areas.
Barry Rice
Barry Rice holds a degree in Architectural Technology from the University of Lincoln in the UK. Barry has worked for major international architect and design company ‘DesignInc.’ in their offices in both Sydney and Brisbane.
In addition to his architectural qualification Barry also holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Advanced Computer Aided Design.
