Drop-Rail Front ~ Flush-Rail Back
Our drop-rail front is an aesthetic feature common to many custom
shutters. However, instead of using a drop-rail on the front and back
of our panel, we designed a flush-rail back to eliminate the light
leakage that occurs with a drop-rail back. Additionally, the thicker
flush-rail gives the shutter panel additional lateral support. As a
special order we also produce a full flush-rail panel.
Mortised for Hinges
Our shutters are mortised for inner panel hanging hinges, which
assures there will be no light gaps where panels are hinged together.
Where panels are hinged to frames we utilise a specially designed
Butterfly hinge, which closes upon itself, again minimising the light
gap around the panel.
Rebated Panels
All panel connections are rebated to prevent light leaking where panels meet. This means that in a two-panel opening, the centre stiles are designed so that they overlap each other to create a light barrier..
